Bleier started his career in the media at a young age, working in radio while still in high school and writing to magazines like the Long Island Press and The New York Times.

During the summers of his academic years, he worked as an ABC News copy boy at Syracuse University, which he eventually left in 1949 with his buddy William Safire.

Initially employed by ABC’s Channel 7 in New York in the 1950s as an advertiser, he then transferred to ABC’s Television Network.

Sales of TV shows and movies broke records during his time at Warner Bros., surpassing box office receipts.

Bleier’s family are are overly saddened by their loss but are hopeful to keep his name alive. His wife was a French-language journalist, Magda Palacci Bleier. They had no children.

He died at his home in East Hampton on October 17, 2023.
